About this course

This is the old Additional Science GCSE which will be examined for the last time in summer 2012.

You may be following the new science course, depending on which year you’re in. So, make sure you know which you’re following – old or new.

40% of the total marks is for Internally assessed practicals
60% for externally marked exams – either
~ 6 x 20 minute multiple choice question papers or
~ 3 x 30 minute structured question papers.


Exam dates in 2012

Multiple choice papers – March 2nd and June 12th.

Structured questions – March 1st and May 30th.


Exam papers

Papers, marking schemes and examiners report can be downloaded from the Edexcel website.
